Clos des Fous Cabernet Sauvignon ‘Grillos Cantores’ 2011, Alto Cachapoal, Chile

Score 92

This is a Cabernet with dark berry, chocolate and hazelnut character. Full body, fine tannins and a delicious finish. Balanced. The wood and fruit are in harmony.

 

Clos des Fous Chardonnay ‘Locura 1’ 2012, Terroir de los Andes, Chile

Score 92

A pretty Chardonnay with cooked apple, stone and mineral character. Full body plus delicious fruit, hints of toasted oak and coconut. Solid core of fruit here. Serious structure.

 

Clos des Fous ‘Cauquenina’ Viñas Viejas de Cauquenes 2012, Chile

Score 92

A very focused and balanced red with orange peel, spice, mineral, slate and berry character. Full body plus layers of fine tannins and a long, long finish.

 

Montes ‘Alpha’ Carmenère 2011, Valle de Colchagua, Chile

Score 90

A red with walnut shell and berry character. Hints of cloves and other spices too. Full-bodied, fruity and delicious plus a fresh finish. A pure Carmenère that shows focus.

 Montes ‘Limited Selection’ Pinot Noir 2012, Valle de Casablanca, Chile

Score 90

This is a delicious Pinot Noir with plums, hints of cedar and delicate acidity. Medium body and a savoury finish. Aged eight months in oak. Pretty Pinot character for a hell of a price!

 Montes ‘Alpha’ Cabernet Sauvignon 2011, Valle de Colchagua, Chile

A soft and fruity red with currants, blueberries and light cream. Full body, soft tannins and a flavourful finish.

 Montes ‘Outer Limits’ Zapllar Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2013, Valle de Aconcagua, Chile

A tangy yet ripe Sauvignon with sliced apple and light asparagus. Full-bodied, fresh and clean.
